Overview

You can use personalization tokens in the following elements:

How to personalize your email subject line

To add a personalization token to your subject line, click the personalize icon to the right of the subject line field.

Select token

Then select First Name from the drop-down menu, or any other personalization token you'd like to use.

Message Subject

Then finish up your subject line.

How to add a personalization token to your email content

When editing the content of your email via a rich-text editor, place your cursor at the point in the text in which you'd like to add the personalization token. Then click the personalize icon in the WYSIWYG editor, and select a token from the dropdown menu.

How to add a personalization token to a plain text email

You can easily carry over all of your HTML content, including your personalization tokens, by clicking Edit plain text version inside Options.

If you want to add any other personalization tokens to your plain text email or your web page version page title, here are the most commonly used personalization tokens:

{{contact.firstname}}

{{contact.lastname}}

{{contact.company}}

{{contact.industry}}

{{contact.jobtitle}}

{{contact.city}}

{{contact.state}}

{{contact.website}}

{{contact.email}}

If you have any custom contact fields set up, you can refer to your Contacts settings screen to see what each of those personalization tokens would be. Because those are your own, custom created fields, we cannot provide you with those tokens here!

Contacts Home

Select the Contacts > Contacts Home.

Then click Manage Settings in the Contacts sidebar.

Then refer to the key column to see what the personalization token would be.

When adding the token manually like this, surround the key with double brackets. For example, if you wanted to add Job Title as a personalization token, jobtitle is the key, so it would look like this:

{{contact.jobtitle}}
